A Special Gift from our Kid-Artists

This slideshow was made with the help of a few of our kid-artists during the 2020 covid-quarantine. Its purpose was to create smiles a connect communities during a time of social distancing.

It lives here, as part of our effort to connect with visitors to our webpage, and we hope it brings a smile to your face!

Additional Special Projects

Celebrating Diversity – Among Animals & Artists!

The January 2020 issue of Scholastic Magazine revealed that not all endangered animals receive equal support. It said that the most unique animals may receive less support because of their unusual looks or behaviors.

Like Scholastic, KIDSFOR believes that unique looks and behaviors are what make individual animals (and people!) so special!

We worked extra hard to help save these animals for two reasons:

  1. If they become extinct, “there will be nothing else like them on earth” (a quote from Scholastic magazine)
  2. they do not receive as much help as other endangered species. That means we need to give them extra attention!

In 2022-23, KIDSFOR raised funds to support all the special animals and environmental groups mentioned in the Scholastic article. You can read the article and see some of our artwork below. You can also continue helping these animals by participating in our current anniversary fundraiser. Just look for the links to color or donate for Aye Ayes, Axolotls, Proboscis Monkeys or Vultures.

In addition to saving these unique animals, KIDSFOR want to make the point that when something (or someone) is unique, we celebrate that! The world needs animals (and people) that are special in their own wonderful ways. The world and these animals need YOU!

Butterfly Garden

KIDSFOR worked on an extra special project while helping Monarch Butterflies. In addition to creating sponsored artwork, we helped create an actual butterfly garden!

  • Save Our Monarchs provided the seeds.
  • Morris Grove Elementary School provided the land and several volunteers.
  • Girl Scout Troup 4218 provided volunteers and equipment.
  • KIDSFOR artists volunteered and colored butterflies on our thank you notes

Thanks to everyone who helps save Monarch Butterflies by creating pollinator gardens!

Visiting and Volunteering with “Kids Saving The Rainforest,” our Environmental Partner in Costa Rica

Kids Saving The Rainforest (KSTR) was the very first group we supported. We funded a rope bridge that KSTR uses to save endangered titi monkeys. When monkeys need to cross dangerous roads in the rainforest–while also avoiding electric power lines–they can use the KSTR bridges to safely get wherever they need to go.

Years after funding this rope bridge, we were able to visit Kids Saving the Rainforest in person! First, we delivered donated veterinary supplies. Then we worked alongside KSTR, as they saved the rainforest and its many animals. Finally, KSTR helped us by color endangered animal artwork. We all had a wonderful time.

Click here to see an the article one of our kids wrote for Quepolandia magazine, encouraging more volunteers to visit KSTR.

Thank you for hosting us, Kids Saving The Rainforest! All of us at Kids Coloring For a Cause appreciate you and the work you do.

Kids Color & Care – Artwork as a Gift

If you know someone who would appreciate a kid-colored page, you can sponsor artwork for them! Just donate through any of our links, then reach out through our contact page to let us know where you would like us to send the artwork (electronically or via regular mail) and which animal you helped save (so we can send the correct artwork). If you prefer we send “bear hug” artwork similar to the one below, just let us know! Either way, your honoree will receive artwork and know that a donation was made in their honor.

To highlight how this works, know that our founders have made donations in honor of YOU! Thank you for visiting our website and inspiring us to donate dollars (that save animals!) and artwork (to folks who benefit from a bright spot in their day–and on their walls!).

Adopt An Axolotl

Kids Coloring For a Cause offers two ways to donate to axolotl-saving funds.

  1. Donations on our “This Year’s Project” page support Conservation International’s many efforts, including this effort to save axolotls.
  2. If you prefer to support the same axolotl effort more directly (and in a way that allows for virtual adoption of an axolotl or habitat) click here. This is offered separately, as the donation platform is new to us (offered through UNAM) and slightly more challenging for non-Spanish speakers. (Click the language flag to translate the bulk of the website to English.) This platform does not allow a direct link to our campaign tracker, which means if you would like to see your donation reflected on our tracking bar, please send us a note letting us know about the donation. Kids Coloring For a Cause has already adopted one axolotl through this link in honor of our artists, so if you have questions about our positive experience, you can contact us here to inquire. Fun Fact: We named our Axolotl “Crayon”. What would you name yours?!
